OOG note Kamuran is primarily a constructed language [1] drawing inspiration from languages associated with the controversial Altaic language hypothesis [2]. The updated linguistic rules and vocabulary were devised with aid of a con-lang generator called Vulgar [3].

The Kamuran Language (Kamuraatiw) (tiw pronounced as 'tul') is the sole confirmed representative of the Sriaav Languages (Sasriaatiw) and the official language of the Empire of Kamura, a major power in Western Davai. It is estimate to have over 160 million first language speakers spread mostly around the Shangti Sea. Significant populations of Kamuran speakers can be found living on three continents: Davai, Altaia and Raia. Kamuran has a high number of secondary speakers and is considered a major trade language in the Western Hemisphere of Gotha.

The Kamuran language has it's genesis as a consequence of the Yaemic Migrations which brought the ancestors of the Sriaav people into West Davai and to the Kamuran Archipelago where the language developed for over 4000 years and diversified into many dialects. It is through the consolidation of Kamura and the establishment of her empire that the language spread across the region and become a common tongue in West Davai and later Kamuran colonies and trade hubs in Altaia and Raia. Recently it has proved prudent for Anarian explorers and diplomats to learn Kamuran when travelling through the Shangti Region and lands in it's vicinity. In coming decades, with increasing globalisation, the Kamuran language could well become one of a few key 'world languages' provided that Kamura remains prominent on the Gothan stage which would seem highly likely considering recent successes.

Administratively, Kamuran is the primary language of Kamura and the only other official language in the Empire is Hwando, a Samzayid language mostly spoken in the Hwandeon Archipelago which holds only regional status. Linguistically, Kamuran remains classed as an language isolate by experts though recent archaeological research suggests it could be a distant genetic relation to Yaemic languages spoken in Central Davai and possibly have a much closer relative in the language spoken by a society of nomadic pastoralists the Kisagan interior.
