Marius III (Gaius Marius Decus; born 29 January 7524) is the current Emperor of the Anisorans, having acceeded to the Anisoran thrones upon the death of his father Titus II on 7 July 7553.

Marius was born in Colombera Palace, Pena, as the oldest child of the Emperor Titus II and Empress-Consort XXX. He attended Exemplar Felixian School for Boys in Alzeno before studying theology at Ex. Bernula's College, Peradotto. After graduating from university he enrolled in the Imperial Naval Academy in 7542 and served aboard a number of ships, primarily destroyers, until in 7545 he transferred to the naval chaplaincy where he undertook religious duties during the last few years of the Pan-Anarian War. In 7549 he married Princess Avrona Lassinia of Auresia, with whom he has eight children, including the heir to the Anisoran thrones, Prince Titus, Grand Prince of Pastana.

As Emperor of the Anisorans, Marius retains numerous other titles as head of state of not only the Empire, but also three of its constitutent states: Grand Prince of Casella, Grand Prince of Lusava and Vascano and Prince of Marona. He is also one of the most senior Peratolian Orkanan leaders in Anaria as Wayfinder and Principal of the Anisoran Congregations, as well as Protector of the Orkanans of Anaria Minor under the terms of the Holy Shrines Covenant - a role he has taken extremely seriously throughout his reign.

The Emperor's full title and style is as follows: His August Imperial Majesty Marius III of the House of Decus, By the Blessing of Vind of the Highest, Emperor of the Anisorans and Their Dominions and Territories Across the Seas, Wayfinder of the Great Plan, Protector of the Holy Shrines, Grand Prince of Casella, Grand Prince of Lusava and Vascano, Prince of Marona, Duke of Rena and Father to his People.

Marriage

Empress-consort Avrona Lassinia

In 7549 Marius married Princess Avrona Lassinia, granddaughter of Dynast Emperor Emshandar III of Auresia and an elder cousin of the reigning Dynast Emperor Cephorus IV (who was in attendance, aged 13 years). The two had courted for almost a year and aside from being one of only a handful of the rare occasions a member of the Scarlet Dynasty wed outside of the Empire, it was also an opportunity heralding strengthened ties between the two nations. After special arrangements were made given the ongoing Pan-Anarian War, the two were married in Ex. Arnald's Hall in Pena.

A year after the wedding celebrations in 7549, the Empress-Consort Avrona gave birth to the imperial couple's first child, a daughter, on 14th February 7550 who was named Tiberia Livia. Her birth was witnessed by the Emperor, who was the first person to hold her, as well as Tribune of the Interior, as is the convention at imperial births in Anisora. The following year a son was born, Prince Titus, Grand Prince of Pastana. Due to the male-preference cognatic primogeniture system of inheritance, he took precedence over his older sister and was named de facto Grand Prince of Pastana. Over the following eleven years, the couple had a further six children: in 7552 Prince Pius Brutus; 7555, Princess Clara Victoria; 7556, Princess Mariella Juliana; 7558, Princess Viola Bella; 7559, Prince Gaius Alberto; and 7562, Princess Maria Giulia.
