A map of the continent of Anaria

Anaria is a continent located mostly in the northern hemisphere, separated from all other land masses by the sea. It is bordered by the Sinian Sea to the north-west, by the North Sea to the north-east, by the Stolvic Ocean and Settant Sea to the east, by the Viverian Sea to the south, and the Ovestan Sea to the west. Anaria covers 19,449,631 km² (7,509,545 sq mi) and is by far the most populous continent on Gotha, with over 920 million people, approximately 34% of the world's population.

The continent is divided into numerous subcontinents and regions, the largest and most important being Adhem, Anaria Major, Anaria Minor, Stoldavia, and Thultannia. At the western-most point of the continent, the Straits of Afti separate Anaria from the continent of Tharna; at the northern-most point, Anaria is separated from Jorveh by the Straits of Andlat; and at the southern-most point, by the Simal Strait to Tzeraka. Due to the continent's position, Anarian geography and climate are hugely varied. The northern half of the continent is largely temperate, varying from harsh winter conditions in Stoldavia to hot summers around the Medio Sea, while the south, particularly Adhem is tropical and sub-tropical, with the equator running through northern Adhem.

Anaria is home to some of the most powerful states on Gotha, many of them retaining large overseas colonial empires that dominate much of the rest of the planet. The so-called 'Anarian Great Powers' are a loose categorisation of the most powerful of these states, who exert considerable influence and power within Anaria and around Gotha. Anaria has the largest economy of any continent, with over 59.3% of the world's total GDP, and has most of the highest GDP per capita states in the world.

Anaria has been home to some of the most ancient and influential cultures in Gotha, with the Medio Sea, Anaria Major, and Stoldavia all hosting numerous empires and civilisations that have had a profound effect on religion, culture, politics, society, and history. Amongst the most significant Anarian civilisations are the Auresian Empire, the Dragar Monopoly, the Greater Stoldavic Empire, the Orkanan Realm of Stoldavia, and the Parnethian Empire. Anaria was also the birthplace of many of the worlds main religions, including: Dlroch'veldr, The Faith, Orkanan, and Sadarisnism. Today, with many Anarian nations controlling large colonial empires, Anarian cultures, languages, customs, art, literature, religions, science, and technology are hugely influential throughout Gotha.

Faberism is an ideology that seeks to place political power in the hands of workers. It promotes universal sufferage—giving the right to vote to everyone above a certain age—but limits those who can stand for office to only those considered to be workers. A somewhat complex scheme called the Workers Pyramid determines what political office a candidate can stand for based on years and type of work they have completed. The definition of work varies among faberist adherents but commonly excludes non-physical labor.

Erberto Bernadetto, an Anisoran and Ferdinando Condotti (7451-7544), an Auresian, developed the ideology of faberism. They described their concept of a faberist system in their 7495 monograph, Faberism: A Treatise on the Worker and the State. As middle-class intellectuals, both men renounced their class and dedicated themselves to earning what they saw as their political rights—through labour. They argued one can only gain political authority through work, describing labour as the means of achieving 'political enlightenment'—"for only after you have physically toiled for the community can you understand its needs". The word faberism derives from the Pastanan word faber, which means worker or workman.

There are numerous types of derivative faberist ideologies that show considerable divergence in definition and emphasis. These include: Bernadettism, Condottism, Häverist faberism, social faberism, libertarian faberism, liberal faberism, radical faberism, Orkanist faberism, anarcho-faberism, and faberist nationalism. The one unifying element in all faberist ideologies is that political power is vested in the workers although definitions of what constitutes 'workers' varies. While primarily a political ideology, economic faberism advocates for the democratic accountability of private wealth and property. Under this concept, workers are the primary shareholders in an enterprise.

Restrictions on usage of the high seas and, therefore, efforts to conscript the free exchange between peoples, is counter to Vind's Master Plan. Instead, nation-states have a moral obligation to foster shared knowledge and improve the human condition in the service of realizing man's elevation with Vind.

Straits of Stelneck

The Straits of Stelneck is a body of water in the form of straits between the Anarian islands of Stoldavia and Nester Major. The straits connect the Stormy Sea from the northeast by the Mörenburg Peninsula to the Settant Sea in the southwest at the Golden Peninsula in Helreich. The straits have been an important conduit of trade since at least the days of the Orkanan Realm and remain so for the three countries on its shores to this day: Helreich, Mörenburg, and Stachelort.

Ranging from 322.7 to 443.8 km (200.5 to 275.8 mi) in width, the Straits of Stelneck are among the widest straits in Anaria. At 738 km (458 mi) long, the straits have a maximum depth of 821 m (2,694 ft). Currents generally flow southward from the Stormy Sea to the Settant Sea.
