A map of the continent of Anaria

Anaria is a continent located mostly in the northern hemisphere, separated from all other land masses by the sea. It is bordered by the Sinian Sea to the north-west, by the North Sea to the north-east, by the Stolvic Ocean and Settant Sea to the east, by the Viverian Sea to the south, and the Ovestan Sea to the west. Anaria covers 19,449,631 km² (7,509,545 sq mi) and is by far the most populous continent on Gotha, with over 920 million people, approximately 34% of the world's population.

The continent is divided into numerous subcontinents and regions, the largest and most important being Adhem, Anaria Major, Anaria Minor, Stoldavia, and Thultannia. At the western-most point of the continent, the Straits of Afti separate Anaria from the continent of Tharna; at the northern-most point, Anaria is separated from Jorveh by the Straits of Andlat; and at the southern-most point, by the Simal Strait to Tzeraka. Due to the continent's position, Anarian geography and climate are hugely varied. The northern half of the continent is largely temperate, varying from harsh winter conditions in Stoldavia to hot summers around the Medio Sea, while the south, particularly Adhem is tropical and sub-tropical, with the equator running through northern Adhem.

Anaria is home to some of the most powerful states on Gotha, many of them retaining large overseas colonial empires that dominate much of the rest of the planet. The so-called 'Anarian Great Powers' are a loose categorisation of the most powerful of these states, who exert considerable influence and power within Anaria and around Gotha. Anaria has the largest economy of any continent, with over 59.3% of the world's total GDP, and has most of the highest GDP per capita states in the world.

Anaria has been home to some of the most ancient and influential cultures in Gotha, with the Medio Sea, Anaria Major, and Stoldavia all hosting numerous empires and civilisations that have had a profound effect on religion, culture, politics, society, and history. Amongst the most significant Anarian civilisations are the Auresian Empire, the Dragar Monopoly, the Greater Stoldavic Empire, the Orkanan Realm of Stoldavia, and the Parnethian Empire. Anaria was also the birthplace of many of the worlds main religions, including: Dlroch'veldr, The Faith, Orkanan, and Sadarisnism. Today, with many Anarian nations controlling large colonial empires, Anarian cultures, languages, customs, art, literature, religions, science, and technology are hugely influential throughout Gotha.

A tentenal guardsman

The Tentenal Guard - also more commonly known as the Red Guard (Guardia Rossa) - are the force that ensures the safety of the Dynast Emperor of Auresia and his family, as well as the security and integrity of the Sovereign's private residence at Epoxague, Veneziano Palace, and Theros Obsidia. They carry the distinction of being the only public military force in Auresia that wears Janessari-made beskar'gam - Janessari steel.

The motto of the Guard is "Meus vita pro suus." - "My life for his". (Hers if the reigning Sovereign is Dynast Empress.) The full declaration is "My life for his. God save the Dynast Emperor!" The Tentenal are also known as the Guardia Imperiale - the Imperial Guard. They are led at their pinnacle by the Lord Paramount of the Court known as the Lord Castellan.

Formed during the reign of Cephorus I, the Guard is the elite force charged with the safeguard of the Dynast Emperor, his wife and children, and his immediate family. They are also the main security force defending Veneziano Palace in Cedelphia. By tradition, they serve "At the pleasure of His Most Excellent and Discerning Sovereign Imperial Majesty the Dynast Emperor, Master of the Armies and Lord of our Service, in defence of the dignities and traditions of the Court of Elestis." They will be found wherever the Emperor is and throughout the Imperial Sanctum. All Tentenal wear a red tunic, black trousers, and black riding boots. With this they wear a white belt with silver buckle and a white sash with a thin scarlet stripe down its center. Their helmet is silver with pale gold trim and the symbol of the Order of Saint Vincenzo emblazoned upon it, with a white plume.

The Laxholm railway station in Talpå

Talpå (also spelled Talpeå before 7523rh, other variants include Talpeaa and Talpo) is a major port city in Vittmark, located near the mouth of the Talpeälven, the second largest river of Stoldavia. From the fall of the Greater Stoldavic Empire until the Pan-Anarian War it was an independant nation state serving both Ådalen and Kötthagen (Hagen). In 7523 it was occupied by Ådalen after a short siege, during which the ruling Fisk family managed to escape with a part of their trading fleet.

Talpå was founded as Stiflaborgh during the latter days of the Orkanan Realm of Stoldavia. A stone fort was built on the western banks of the river, on an islet formed by the branches of the minor Ðaeå river (nowadays Teå). The location was strategic, since it both controlled shipping lanes on the river Dalfiå (nowadays Talpälven), as well as a ferry crossing point for landbound traffic. The military fort got a civilian use on the side. At first it became a trading post, and because of that regional fisherman started visiting the place as well. When the Orkanan Realm fell, the local landlord continued governing the city, turning it into a staple port. Tax income made it possible to maintain a local army that upheld this status.

Talpå is an equally large harbor as Östvallen and therefore of the upmost importance. Intercontinental vessels, coastal trade and river boats all use the several harbor complexes, which are located all over the river banks. Smaller vessels provide goods to the workshops in the central parts of town, like Triangeln, Stifla and Blåker. Larger industrial complexes are located well outside the city centre, for example in Dälfshamn, Måshamn, Kåsa and Huvet.
